Highlights

Easter treasure hunt

Each class goes on a star hike with lots of surprises. Afterwards, we all meet at a common point (school, after-school care center, Müllerhof). There we find our Easter presents and end the day with delicacies provided by parents.

Christmas crafts

Every year, the respective class levels make small Christmas presents together with their parents or grandparents. Everyone spends a cozy afternoon with coffee and cookies.

Chestnut collection

We collect lots of chestnuts for the deer in Weinsdorf. As a small thank you, we receive children's punch for everyone.

Garbage collection/ spring awakening

All children collect garbage for a clean Mittweida. Equipped with gloves and grabbers, we set off. The collected items are disposed of in the containers set up especially for this purpose.

Basics

What is important to us?

You, dear parents, want the best for your child. Of course we share this concern! At both "Sonnenschein" and "Sonneninsel", we offer the children a diverse living environment to accompany, support and encourage them in their development.

My child can do whatever it wants in the after-school care center... ...OR ???

We work in a situation-oriented way and look after the children according to the principle of semi-open after-school care.

Our work is based on the Saxon education plan. In order to ensure and further develop a high standard, we work according to the "Quast" quality development process.

We accompany and support trainees who gain their practical work experience with us and get to know the field of after-school care.

After-school care + parents + school = educational community!

A trusting partnership with parents and the school is very important to us. The interests and wishes of the parent community are represented by the parents' council, which meets regularly. The jointly drawn up cooperation agreement is the basis for good cooperation between the school and the after-school care center.

This cooperation and the involvement of the binding reference persons creates a good basis for our educational activities. As educators, we are therefore in a very good position to pick up on the special needs, interests, abilities and peculiarities of the children.

special needs, interests, abilities and characteristics of the children, respond to them and support them.

Good and important - our children have a say!

Depending on their age and stage of development, the children in our after-school care center

are equally involved in decision-making processes. First of all, each group elects 2 group representatives. These meet regularly for an assembly. Here they talk about everything that is important for the after-school care center and where the children can participate.

Another opportunity for co-determination is our after-school mailbox.

Wishes, views, suggestions and praise as well as complaints can be written in this box,

problems and personal concerns in writing (even without names).

The children also take part in various activities throughout the year. Such as planting our raised beds or designing a program for the Christmas market.

Description and Stations

- Welcome to Hort Sonnenschein!

How it all began...

The building is a prefabricated building, which was opened in 1976 as a children's combination (crèche/kindergarten).

Extensive renovation and conversion work on the interior and exterior has resulted in a kindergarten in the upper part of the building and our after-school care center in the lower part. Our facility has a parking lot with sufficient parking spaces.

Where can you find us?

Our facilities are located in the new development area of Mittweida. Pupils from the Bernhard Schmidt elementary school attend our after-school care center. The after-school groups in Years 1 and 2, as well as the management, are housed in the "Sonnenschein" after-school care center at Lauenhainer Str. 22. Classes 3 and 4 are located on the first floor of the Bernhard-Schmidt-Schule. From then on, we affectionately call ourselves "Sonneninsel".

The "Mittweidaer Aue" recreational area in the forest is within easy reach and is ideal for fun and games in the great outdoors. The directly adjacent Müllerhof garden also offers a variety of opportunities to experience, discover and explore nature.

Who are we?

Our educational team...

... is characterized by

committed, collegial work
