Introduction/specifics

Our children's facility is located in a former villa on the outskirts of Frankenau, which was first used as a children's facility in the late 1950s. Since a complete renovation a few years ago, we now meet all the requirements of childcare for children from the age of 1 to the end of primary school.

In our daycare center, the children have the opportunity to try things out in a safe and protected environment according to their age.

As a team of educators, this is the basis for our mission statement:

Learning must have a personal meaning for the child. This can only be achieved if the child can be actively involved. After an individually designed, child-oriented settling-in phase, we offer all children a multi-layered, educational and social learning program in all areas in accordance with the Saxon education plan. We motivate the children to stimulate their imagination through play, to engage with their environment and to learn comprehensively using all their senses.

We attach great importance to comprehensive preparation for school. On the weekly preschool days, communication skills in particular are further developed. Numeracy, concepts of quantity, perceptual skills and social values are deepened.

In the after-school care area, we empower the children to take responsibility for the conscious organization of the after-school afternoon. There is a wide range of activities to help them move and relax. After a strenuous morning at school, we attach particular importance to spending time outdoors. But the children also have enough time to do their homework in an undisturbed and concentrated manner.

- ensures the quality of educational work in the daycare center by implementing the Pedquis quality assurance system

What else is important to us?
- An actively working parents' council, jointly organized, eventful festivals and highlights
- Cooperation with the local community (Volkssolidarität, fire department, local businesses, ...)

Rooms

On the first floor is our after-school care area with a group room, washroom, checkroom and an additional homework room as well as rooms for the technical area.

The kindergarten area with 2 group rooms, washroom and checkroom as well as our separate crèche area with a group room for max. 12 children, bedroom and checkroom are located on the upper floor.

The manager's office and other ancillary rooms are located on the top floor. 
A new temporary container (2 modules) including sanitary and checkroom facilities has been added on our terrace for the temporary care of a further 9 after-school children.

Outdoor Facilities

A beautiful, large park-like play garden with shady trees, lawns, slopes for climbing and tobogganing and secluded areas behind bushes and trees for hiding and retreating define our outdoor area.   

The garden also has a play and equipment house, a children's wood workshop, a large sandpit, a play and climbing combination with an integrated slide, a scooter track, a nest swing, a large slope slide, a multi-pondo, spring rockers for the younger children, a pirate mast for the after-school children, a playhouse, a large soccer goal, table tennis table and other small play equipment that encourages climbing and exercise.

For our crèche children, there is a playground with a garden shed in the upper part of our grounds directly adjacent to our building. Here there is also a sandpit, a natural willow house, a small slide, a seesaw and the "Benny" feather bouncer. A small terrace with appropriate seating and further separate retreat corners complete our outdoor area.

Daily Schedule

Our daily routine in the crèche / kindergarten

 6.00 - 7.15 a.m.: Early service - reception of the first children, free play in the early service area  

 7.15 - 8.00 a.m.: The children go to their groups, 7.30 a.m. breakfast time

 8.00 - 9.00 a.m.: Free play, partly individual activities  

 9.00 - 11.00 a.m.: Daily activities, free play, outdoor activities
    
11.00 - 12.00: Lunch, preparation for midday rest     

12.00 - 14.00: Lunch break - it is not possible to collect the children during this time, as the children's recovery phase           should not be disturbed.    

Around 2.20 p.m.: shared fruit and vegetable snack, followed by free play, time outdoors 

16.00 - 16.30: Closing time together with the after-school group  

Our daily routine in the after-school care center

  6.00 - 7.15 a.m.: Early service in the crèche and kindergarten area; the children are sent to the school bus.

12.00 - 14.00: Arrival of the school buses from Altmittweida elementary school, pick-up of the children from the bus,
                             Lunch on arrival with the 1st school bus, free play, time outdoors, time for homework
From approx. 2.30 p.m.: shared fruit and vegetable snack, followed by free play, afternoon activities, time outdoors

16.00 - 16.30: Closing time, usually together with the crèche and kindergarten

During the school vacations, we offer all-day care for our after-school children with a variety of highlights and vacation experiences
